Volunteer

The Chicago Blues Hockey Club is successful thanks to the families that volunteer their time and energy. Each family is asked to complete 10 DIBs credits over the course of the season.

As part of the registration, families are required to agree to either complete the required DIBs credits or opt out and pay $500.00 to waive the volunteer requirement. If you agree to complete your volunteer requirement, your credit card information will be stored during registration. Payment method updates can be made under the Billing section of the Accounting settings or directly with our Registrar, Sean Ryan. Families may opt out by making an early payment of $500.00 after registration directly with our Registrar. If you do not fulfill your volunteer DIBs credits by March 31, 2027, your credit card will be charged $500.00. This fee will not be prorated for partial completion of DIBs credits. Failure to complete the volunteer DIBs credits or pay the $500.00 fee will result in a hold placed on your account for the following season, and your player(s) will not be allowed on the ice until the past season’s debt is settled.

DIBs opportunities are available throughout the year by logging into your Chicago Blues Crossbar account clicking on "Account, and then "Volunteer", or by claiming team-related volunteer opportunities at the beginning of the season. IMPORTANT NOTE: While the system we use to manage our DIBs credits refers to those credits as "hours", we do not track our volunteer requirements by hours (this is a limitation of the system). We refer to them as "credits", and this allows for more flexibility in the opportunities we are able to offer our families.
